SUMMARY:Dartmouth Club of Toronto at the Bay Street Hockey Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Dartmouth Club of Toronto is pleased to announce that we will be participating in the Bay St Hockey Tournament on April 18\, 2020. The Bay St Hockey Tournament is organized by Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH)\, a national organization targeting homeless youth. HHTH organizes hockey games across Canada where players raise funds to make a direct impact in their own community. Since its inception\, HHTH has granted over $16 million locally to partner agencies. The partner agencies provide a variety of services including emergency shelter\, transitional housing\, and mentorship programs for those currently experiencing homelessness\, while aiming to create long term solutions to end homelessness across the country. Past participants of the hockey tournament include: Toronto Dominion Securities\, Morgan Stanley Canada\, Royal Bank of Canada and Deloitte. \nWe would like to make a special mention and express our gratitude to Don Allan TU’84 P’14 for securing the Dartmouth Club of Toronto Hockey Team sponsorship from Agnico Eagle Mines Limited to play in the Bay St. Hockey Tournament! \nThe game will be held in Scotiabank Pond. SUMMARY:First Dartmouth Community Dinner @ Leña Restaurante
DESCRIPTION:In order to tighten the Dartmouth community in Toronto and to build bridges across its members\, the Dartmouth Club of Toronto is pleased to introduce its new dinner series. Restricted to between 8-10 people per evening\, these are opportunities to meet and get to know other Dartmouth Alumni in the Toronto area in a small and intimate setting. Some of these dinners will have a pre-selected topic and expert present to steer the discussion\, while others will be fully open-ended – but we expect all of them to be evenings with good food\, interesting conversation\, and new friends! \nWe are launching the first of our dinner series in tandem with the Big Green Affair\, which kicks off around the globe between March 19 – March 22. \nOur first dinner will be held at Leña Restaurante on 176 Yonge St (intersection of Yonge and Richmond) at 7pm on Friday\, March 20. DESCRIPTION:The Dartmouth Club of Toronto would like to invite Dartmouth alumni in the Toronto area to participate in the Terry Fox Run on Sunday\, September 15\, 2019. The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox to raise money for cancer. \nWe are organizing this event not just to serve a greater cause but also to provide an opportunity for Dartmouth alumni to gather in a meaningful way. As such\, raising money is not a requisite for participation although we do recommend making a small donation of any amount to join the run. We also encourage Dartmouth alumni to donate to the cause if they are unable to attend the Run. \nThe run is 5km.
